Motatapu 47km Mountain Bike

The Motatapu Mountain bike is for everyone. It can be as challenging or as easy as you want it to be ( depending on your definition of easy!) Set in the spectacular Southern high country valleys, there are many rivers to cross, hills to climb and a few steep descents thrown into the mix.
The race starts at Motatapu Station, near Lake Wanaka and finishes at historic Arrowtown. Your journey follows a route used by early Maori as an access for food and gathering, and to move Pounamu (Greenstown). The valley was not found by European explorers until around 1862 when the goldrush was on.
This event takes you on an iconic off road course through the magnificent Motatapu, Soho and Glencoe Stations, which thanks to the owners, are opened once a year to the public for this event.
