Welcome to the Ultra Spirit – a two lap race taking place on Saturday September 1st 2012 around The Tan in Melbourne’s beautiful Royal Botanical Gardens. The event is being staged to raise funds for Kate Sanderson and Turia Pitt, the two girls tragically burnt in bush fires while taking part in a 100km ultra marathon in the Kimberly Desert last year.
Both Kate and Turia have shown unbelievable courage in the aftermath of those horrific scenes in the Kimberly, overcoming life-threatening injuries, sustained while they were doing something they loved.
You can help the girls by taking part in the Ultra Spirit Race and demonstrate what true spirit really means.
Working in conjunction with the Fire Foundation, proceeds raised from the run will go to the girls to help them rebuild their lives, as well as take care of vast ongoing medical and living costs. We can’t thank our sponsor, Juice Plus+ enough for stepping in to cover all of the expenses for the event. This means that you can be safe in the knowledge that your entry fee is going to help the girls.
