State Championships are being held at the Middleback Ranges, Whyalla, choose between a roving 12 or the full 24 hour.

This is a brand new area for rogaining, located near Whyalla on the Eyre Peninsula where local landowner, Geoff Mills, will be using his extensive knowledge of his sheep station and surrounding properties, including the Middleback Range, to set an enticing event.

It will be staged from the "Myola" station shearing sheds. Don't miss the opportunity to see a working sheep farm as well as explore the impressive Middleback Range. Enjoy the Milky Way as darkness falls and navigate your way across the land by the Southern Cross or enjoy the congenial atmosphere around the Hash House camp fire.

The traditional 24 hour event will be staged from midday Saturday 21 June to midday Sunday 22 June. The popular roving 12 hour will run concurrently, but competing teams can only be on course for a maximum of 12 hours within the 24. Maps will be available from 9.00am Saturday morning.

The Hash House will serve hot food and drinks from 6pm Saturday onwards with Sunday breakfast (including cheese toasties) and lunch at the completion of the event. Camping will be available on site or use the numerous accommodation facilities at Whyalla.

Travel time from Gepps Cross, Adelaide to Whyalla is approximately 4 hours with the event centre being a further 50 kms out from Whyalla adjacent the Middleback Range and near the Iron Baron Mine (allow 50 minutes driving time).
