Simpson Desert MultiMarathon

The Simpson Desert MultiMarathon is the Ultimate physical challenge of a life time for any marathon or ultra marathon runner. In 2010 a team of 4 set out to challenge the Simpson Desert by running 15 marathons in 15 days a total of 650 km at an average distance of 44km (marathon distance is 42.2km) each day with the exception of the last day, just 24km leading to Birdsville. This is not a race for the faint hearted or the foolish, for out of the 4 that set out only one man managed to complete the 15 marathons in 15 days, his name is Barry Golding.
2011 The Simpson Desert MultiMarathon is a race for all marathon runners looking for the ultimate physical and mental challenge. Designed to give all marathon runners the chance to compete and prepare for future races in the desert.
