In 2014 the Single Track Mind race series is set to expand, with several new events alongside old favourites including the Kalamunda 50 and Jarrahdale 6 Hour.

April 13th // Jorgenson Park 4 Hour
May 18th // Dwellingup 50
June 8th // Jarrahdale 6 Hour
July 20th // Kalamunda 50
August 10th // Gravity Enduro (location TBC)
August 31st // Gravel Grinder (location TBC)

The series will kick off in April with the Jorgenson Park 4 Hour. The open, flowing course is perfect for new riders and those who love to go fast. This event is available to solo and team entrants, and is the perfect way to start the mountain biking season.
The series will then head to the classic trails of Marrinup and Turners Hill for the Dwellingup 50. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Reece Tucknott to assist him to race in Europe. The following round will then be at Langford Park, where riders can indulge in the flowy trails during the Jarrahdale 6 Hour.

The pinnacle event of the series will be the Kalamunda 50. Now in it’s 4th year, if you are a lover of singletrack this is the race for you! The Kalamunda Collective have put an enormous amount of work into expanding the Kalamunda trail network, allowing us to put together a fresh course of the finest singletrack for 2014. Once again this event will support the Kalamunda Collective’s trail building efforts through a donation to assist them to build more trails in the area.

With the growing popularity of the gravity enduro format worldwide, Single Track Minds have added a gravity enduro race to their roster to complement the events run by Peel Districts MTB Club and Western Australian Gravity Enduro. With the location TBC, this race will involve an untimed climb, before riders race down a timed course of approximately 70% descending and 30% flat/uphill. This format is perfect for those who prefer the descents to the climbs, and will pit cross country racers against downhill racers to find out who is the state’s best all-round mountain biker.

The final Single Track Minds event will be a Gravel Grinder. This style of event is halfway between a mountain bike race and a road race, and is suitable for both mountain bikes and cyclocross bikes. The course will feature fast, open trails, allowing riders to bunch together and employ road-racing tactics. This event will provide a fantastic lead in for those doing the Cape to Cape MTB in October.
