The Shire Amazing Race is the ultimate suburban adventure race set in the Sutherland Shire, south of Sydney. Based on the Amazing Race TV series, this action-packed pursuit will excite, challenge and inspire community spirit, whilst promoting fitness, fun and friendship.
This inaugural event will start and finish at Gunnamatta Pavilion, Gunnamatta Bay, Cronulla. The key focus will be to raise funds to support our Charity Partner Enough Is Enough and in time to become a major calendar event for the Sutherland Shire.
Unlike a marathon, fun run or obstacle event, The Shire Amazing Race will have teams of 2 racing against the clock and each other, deciphering clues and puzzles as well as a variety of fun and challenging activities.
Choose Your Own Adventure
The event will be made up of different stages including the Collect, Check and Challenge stages. To get you on your way you will receive a clue sheet at the start of the race and you and your team mate will have to put your heads together to figure out your team’s best race strategy. From there you will be on your way chasing the challenges and activities around the greater Cronulla area where you will be led by clues to various locations where you will experience a number of physical challenges, mental challenges and opportunities to explore Cronulla. But above all you will need to throw yourself into these new experiences and have FUN!!
The main aim of the game is to get the required amount of points in the least amount of time. Different challenges will attract a different number of points depending on how challenging they are. It will be up to you and your team mate as to how best you feel you can achieve this – YOU choose your own adventure.
