Record Sell Out for the Rogue24

R24-6Just 70 minutes after entries opened, the Rogue24 Adventuregaine sold out in record time.  A total of 50 teams have confirmed their place in what will be the biggest 24 hour adventure race in Australia this year.  To check out the competition, a full team list can be found here.  For those that missed out on an entry, I strongly encourage you to enter the 6 hour option here (which is run at the same entry price) and contact me at rogueadventureracing@gmail.com.  If and when a spot becomes available, we can then transfer your entry across.  Please note that all past editions of the race have sold out, and that on all occasions teams on the wait list have been offered a spot, however often this isn’t until the week before the race.

Meanwhile, course setting has been completed and all the pieces have fallen into place for a tough and rewarding race.  I’ve consistently rated this course as being more “adventure race-like” than “rogaine-like”.  Of all the courses I’ve set since the first Rogue24 in 2010, I would rate this as the second most difficult in terms of physicality.  In saying that, the course explores a wide variety of terrain types and reaches some spectacular and rewarding places.  An album of course setting photos can be found here to whet your appetite.

For those interested in being more deeply involved in the race, I’m still looking for a number of volunteers.  This includes both hanging controls and help manning transition areas and moving gear on the day.  For those racing looking for some extra training leading up to your next big race, I’m also looking for competitors to pick up controls in the weeks after the race: an excellent chance to see the CPs you missed in the race or practice your navigation with different route choice to the CPs that you did get to.  Just email me at rogueadventureracing@gmail.com to express your interest.

So with just 2 months to go, I wish you the best in your training and I look forward to seeing you at the start line at Lake Manchester for the Rogue24.
