XTERRA Alabama Trail Run Series Kicks off September 30th
On September 30th, the XTERRA Alabama Trail Run Series will kick off with XTERRA Noccalula at Noccalula Falls Park & Campground in Gadsden, Alabama.
The 8k and 15k trails include a mixture of single track, small stream crossings, gravel paths and wooded bridges. Noccalula Falls Park has plenty of parking for all participants and a great place for spectators to relax, view the race, and take in the scenery.

the 2018 XTERRA Alabama Trail Run Series is expanding this season with the brand new Parks of Alabama races hosted by Black Squirrel Events. With several inaugural events added to the schedule, the season guarantees to provide a full fall and winter racing calendar for both new runners and experienced trail racers.
Alabama has some of the most scenic – and challenging – trail systems in the Southern United States, and runners of all ages and skill levels can participate in the XTERRA Alabama Trail Run Series.
The race distances in the Alabama Series will vary from a 5K to a half marathon 21K. One race in the series – XTERRA Oak Mountain – will be held at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Alabama, which was recently rated as one of the Top 25 Trails In America by Runner’s World Magazine.
Points will be awarded to the top runners in each age group at every race’s longest distance, and standings will be updated throughout the season. At the conclusion of the series, each age-group champion will receive a free entry to represent Alabama at the XTERRA Trail Run National Championship in Utah.
