XTERRA Point Magu Kicks Off SoCal Trail Run Series

The beloved XTERRA SoCal Trail Series will kick off October 1st with the XTERRA Point Magu 18k and 11k Trail Runs in Point Magu State Park. The cool ocean breezes and spectacular vistas make this trail run one of a kind.

The following week, the XTERRA Laguna Beach Trail Run offers 13k and 6k runs in Crystal Cove State Park.

Last year, XTERRA SoCal Series drew more than 4,000 trail runners with a ride range of experience from first-time racer to professional athlete. Don’t be surprised to see XTERRA Regional and National Champs on the trails cheering for you. The atmosphere is very fun and low-key so you will feel right at home regardless if you run at the front or back of the pack.

Each race in the series offers a short course for beginners and sprinters, and a long course for experienced endurance runners. The short courses usually range between 5 and 10 kilometers; the long courses range from 15 to 22 kilometers and feature some of the most challenging – and scenic – trails in Southern California.

“There are obviously a lot of people living in Southern California, and because of the weather, a lot of them like to be outdoors,” series director Brennan Lindner said. “We’ve been fortunate to find a bunch of trails that people enjoy and we try to make it fun so they keep coming back.”
