Inspiring XTERRA Trail Runner Featured in FOX Sports TV Special
A little over a year ago we shared the story of Lota Ward, an amazing young man who at just 7-years-old won the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship in Utah.
It wasn’t just his running that impressed us, but his spirit. His focus for that race was to raise money for two little boys in his neighborhood that had Spinal Muscular Atrophy. And he did, he collected roughly $2,000 in contributions to help buy a new wheelchair for his buddies.
Just a few months later, however, it was Lota who needed help after being diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. Since October of 2014 he’s gone through five brain surgeries, but is still strong and is still running and is still inspiring everybody he comes across.
