Glenluce Maxi

The Maxi Adventure Race is a score orienteering event. Participants can enter either of the 90 minute or the 3-hour categories; individually or in teams of 2 to 5 members. The aim is to visit as many controls as possible in the given time.
The competition area is based in the Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park in an area known as Glenluce. Most of the forest is open and easy to move through. There are patches of thicker vegetation and fallen timber. The terrain is intricate spur-gully and undulating. Some erosion gullies are quite deep and steep and there are many rock features. There are pockets of old gold workings and mining relics. The courses have been set with a moderate degree of navigational detail, rather than difficult. Careful route choice will be rewarded.
Coloured Map: 1:15,000 scale, 5 metre contours; pre-marked with control locations
Start Time: There will be a mass start at 11am (registration open from 9:30am)
