XTERRA Boney Mountain Postponed

XTERRA Boney Mountain Postponed Pamela-Xterra Tue, 01/08/2019 - 09:03 The national park is closed because of the government shutdown so will be rescheduled to later date.

Sometimes XTERRA means you have to do battle against Mother Nature. And sometimes XTERRA means you have to deal with real life on the trails. Unfortunately, the latter is to blame for the postponement of the XTERRA Boney Mountain Trail Run.

Originally slated for January 13th, the race will be postponed because of the ongoing closure of the Federal Government (including Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa National Park).

“We are disappointed by the circumstances beyond our control,” said XTERRA SoCal race director Brennan Lindner. “We hope to have our government and parks up and running soon.  We will let you know about a new date for the race when the park reopens.”

XTERRA Boney Mountain heads through Point Mugu State Park, but the official race start is just west of Thousand Oaks in Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa National Park. The 21K race is not to be missed and will take you through some of the most scenic back country in the Santa Monica Mountains. The 6K is a great introductory event on paved roads and some singletrack along Upper Sycamore Canyon.

If you are already registered for XTERRA Boney Mountain, your registration will be transferred automatically to the new date and there is nothing you need to do at this time. If you can’t attend the race on its new date, you may transfer your race entry to another 2019 XTERRA SoCal event, including the following:

XTERRA Crystal Cove Trail Run – February 24th
XTERRA Black Mountain – April 7th
XTERRA Malibu Creek – May 18th
XTERRA Laguna Beach – September 9th
