Camping at the start on the Friday night before the event. Porta-loos will be provided at the camp site but you are expected to be totally self-sufficient otherwise, including water. This is free so just add the details to your entry form of the number intending to overnight & the registration number of the vehicle staying. Camping is permitted only on Friday night and all camping must be part of the event.

For those who want to carry on the camping theme contact THE PINES HOLIDAY PARK, right next door to the finish at the Hanmer domain. 03 3157152. They have cabins, camping sites & caravan sites, too.

Suitable 4WD vehicles will be allowed, for the normal road fee, to drive through an hour before the event starts. There is to be NO stopping to feed or assist your rider or take photographs. It is straight through to Hanmer. You can return that way on Sunday or Monday, if you wish, and take the photos when there is no chance of any riders catching you.

There will be a "Race" start for the racers amongst us.
This start will be before the Adventure Ride / Social Ride start. This way we'll let the speed bunnies go first and we can then enjoy our ride.

You can ride a MTB or a Gravel Grind bike. There will be a category for both in the Speed Bunny section.
This will make it one of the longest, if not the longest, Gravel Grind race in the country.

But the emphasis is still on the "Adventure" aspect of the Rainbow. Just getting out there and doing it.

E-Bikes are welcome - Pedal Assist Only.

Fat Bikes are welcome.

Single Speeds are welcome.

Tandems are welcome.

Uni-cycles are welcome.

Standard MTBs' are welcome.

YOU are most welcome.
