This is the 1st annual Scenic Rim Ultra and the first ultra to be held in the area. Runners have the option of 25km, 65km and 105km distances. Starting at The Overflow Estate 1895 winery, runners will traverse the Dugandan Range and cross four mountains centred by spectacular Wyaralong Dam. The loop course finishes back at the winery, the perfect party precinct to celebrate tackling this gruelling and scenic course.
The course runs across long ridgelines, single track, dirt road and dense forest much of which has never been explored by trail runners. Both distances have challenging mountain climbs which provide panoramic views of Mt Tamborine and Brisbane City.
The Scenic Rim Ultra is held over 2 days, 15-16 August. The race briefing will be held on Friday 14 August. The courses are hilly with many vantage points for crew and cheer squads! Some of you will come just for the personal challenge, others for the hope of a podium finish. We have made the cut offs generous to allow anyone willing and able to take up the challenge and see some amazing scenery. All finishers will get a unique token to mark their achievement, and you can be assured it won’t be just another ultra medal that get’s shoved into a drawer!
