Two action-packed Rocky Trail racing weekends are coming to Townsville in September! The Douglas MTB Reserve trails will come alive with all types of racing on offer, and catering for riders of all abilities.

This event will be XC racing with the Shimano MTB Grand Prix 4 and 7 hour enurance race will kick it all of on the 12th and the Fox Superflow on the weekend of 19-20th September will bring Rocky Trail's popular enduro-style gravity event to town!

We hope not only will the local mountain bikers love to race their own trails, but riders from further away will make it a whole racing weekend with us! Twice the racing = double the fun.

The Shimano MTB GP’s are 'seriously fun' races where for podium chasers can line up with Australia’s elites and experienced amateur endurance racers plus casual racers will have a blast, all feeling safe and part of an inspiring community.

With this race we will resurrect one of Queensland’s most iconic MTB events together with the local Rockwheelers MTB Club! The Hot Rock used to be a staple on the Rockwheelers events calendar and the club has invited Rocky Trail to help bring it back to life. We will race the Mount Douglas Reserve – with heaps of vertical and a ton of rocky trails this will no doubt be the start of a new chapter in the “Hot Rock” racing history in Townsville!

Race for four (GP4) or seven (GP7) hours solo, in relay pairs or teams of three. There are age-group and eBike categories. Expect less of a winners-only-focused competition, but a positive and inclusive experience for all racers.

With temporary COVID-19 event rules active, we have a participant limit in place - please check the event website for all the details. Competitors must sign up online. This event is tracking all participants and any non-racing spectator or supporter must register online for an event accreditation at no charge.
