Further to the news release on 2nd January below, we wanted to provide a quick update with regards to the Snowies MultiSport Festival in February, which includes the Snowies MTB Festival, Oceania XTri Championships and Trail Run Australia Snowy Mtns.

Our thoughts have been with all of those impacted by the tragic fires that have taken so much from so many including our very special friends in the Snowy Mountains.  Currently the area is still experiencing the threat of fire, however, thankfully Jindabyne, Lake Crackenback and Thredbo have not been directly impacted by fires at this stage.

We have been able to liaise with our partners in the area over the past week, and despite not being directly impacted by the fires, the economic impact on the community and businesses in the region has been devastating.  Understanding the strong financial and social benefits that the Snowies MultiSport Festival brings to the region, we have made a commitment to the area that where it is safe to do so, and where the impact of the event on the local community and athletes will be a positive one, that we will make every effort to ensure the events go ahead.

Having said that, our top priority is the safety of athletes and visitors, and a lot will depend on what happens over the next few weeks, as there is another high fire risk this weekend.  Please be assured that we will continue to monitor the situation carefully and keep you informed as much as possible.

Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa are due to reopen on Friday 17th of January.  We will continue to liaise with local authorities, businesses and the community and we hope to be able to announce any decision in relation to the events by Friday 24th January.  This is three weeks before the Snowies MTB Festival. We will keep all our athletes as fully informed as possible via the website and on social media.

Our thoughts remain with all those in the Snowy Mountains and those around Australia who are facing this unfathomable disaster.  We understand that a sports event is of such little significance when many have lost so much, however, the community will need the support of visitors returning to the region to help them get back on their feet and back to some degree of normality and we know that the Snowies MultiSport Festival can contribute in a positive way to this recovery.

We thank you in advance for your understanding in this uncertain time.

All our love

Rob & Simon & the In2Adventure Team.

Jan 2,  2020.

With the tragedy that is occuring in our southern states, and with many of our In2Adventure family being effected by this, we wanted to take this opportunity to send all our love to those impacted by the devastating fires that have taken so much from so many.

Our thoughts especially go out to our very special friends in the Snowy Mountains Region especially all the team at  Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa and Thredbo Resort.  As a precaution, an evacuation order has been issued to all of Kosciuszko National Park and Resorts and all other places located within the national park.

The Snowy Mountains are like a second home to us and the people there are like a second family, so our thoughts and best wishes are going out to everyone in the region at this challenging time.

With so many people being faced with such a mammoth disaster the Snowies MultiSport Festival in February is of very minor significance, however, we have had some enquiries from participants, so just wanted to provide you with a quick update on the festival which includes the Snowies MTB Festival, Oceania XTri Championships and Trail Run Australia Snowy Mtns.

Please be assured that over the past month we have been monitoring the situation very carefully.  Evacuations within the event area today are precautionary and thankfully, the areas around Jindabyne, Lake Crackenback and Thredbo have not been directly impacted with fire activity at this stage.

We will continue to monitor the situation over the next six weeks and will liaise with local authorities, businesses and the community with regards to any decisions in relation to the event.  We will keep all our athletes fully informed via the website and on social media.

We would like to stress that where it is safe to do so and where the impact of the event on the local community and athletes will be a positive one, that the event will go ahead, however, a lot depends on what occurs over the coming weeks.

We wish all our In2Adventure family throughout the country a safe new year and one that we hope will only hold positive and happy moments for you.

All our love

Rob & Simon & the In2Adventure Team.
