16th edition of the Coastal Classic took place this past Saturday and the conditions couldnt have been more perfect!
For the first time in years, runners were treated to the OG Coastal Classic course hugging the coastline all the way from Otford to Bundeena. The last-minute change from National Parks and Wildlife Services gave participants the chance to experience this breath taking route in all its glory.
With trail conditions spot-on, spirits were high from the very first steps out of Otford. Out on course, runners were met with sweeping clifftop views, breaching whales, sandy stretches, those infamous climbs and of course the legendary Billys Bushies were out in force with their trademark mix of singing, heckling, costumes and encouragement.
The racing at the front of the pack was hot, with podium places hard-earned. Congratulations to our top finishers:
Special shout-out to our Triple Trail Challenge finishers, who capped off an epic year of trail running after conquering Raffertys Coastal Run, Jabulani Challenge, and now the Coastal Classic. Wear that hoodie with pride, youve earned it!
We also welcomed new Coastal Classic Conquerors to the fold: Greg Heilbron and Paul Ng! Huge respect to those who joined the list this year, those that returned to collect another finish, and to our legends Warwick and Geoff who still hold the streak of finishing every single Coastal Classic.
Post-race finish line celebrations were in full swing in Bundeena with a RFS BBQ feed, and plenty of trail stories shared on the grass overlooking the ocean.
A massive thank you to our sponsors Tailwind Nutrition Australia, Tarkine, and Paddy Pallin, and to everyone who makes this iconic event so special each year including the wonderful event volunteers, CREST Radio and the communities of Otford and Bundeena and of course Billy’s Bushies.

We are already looking forward to 2026. Entries for the 17th Coastal Classic will open in April 2026 for an early September date. We hope to see you next year
