Time To Start Training!

It’s time to start training for the Jabulani Challenge!

Training for a race like the Jabulani Challenge is completely different to the type of plan you would follow for a road race. With rocky terrain, technical single track, fire trails, creek crossings, bushland and steep hill inclines, you need to incorporate a whole range of different running techniques and specific training exercises to ensure you have a great race.

If you are looking for a race-specific training plan we’ve partnered with Physio and Ultra Runner, Mark Green from The Body Mechanic to get you ready for race day. The weekly program will help you turn up at the start line, ready to achieve your personal best.

There are training plans available for each Jabulani distance:

  • 16 Week Jabulani Challenge 45km Training Plan starting 22nd December 2025
  • 16 Week Jabulani Challenge 22km Training Plan starting 22nd December 2025
  • 12 Week Jabulani Challenge 12km Training Plan starting 19th January 2026

  • Three Levels to Choose From: Beginner, intermediate and advanced optionsso whether youre aiming to finish strong or race it hard, theres a plan to match your goals
  • Stretching and Mobility Routines: Simple daily mobility, stretching and foam rolling sessions to help keep niggles at bay and keep you moving freely
  • Running Technique Tips: Learn to run more efficientlyespecially on trails. Includes guidance on posture, pacing, hills, and navigating technical terrain
  • Trail Specific Strength Workouts: Two full-body sessions each week designed to improve running power, control and injury resilience
  • Weekly Nutrition Advice: Fuel your training, recovery and race-day performance with clear and practical week-by-week nutrition tips

How To Purchase the Training Plans

Training plans can be purchased during registration or directly at Streek Run App (search Jabulani Challenge). You may then purchase your Jabulani Challenge event entry separately.
