Huge congratulations to every team who lined up for the Brisbane Max Adventure Race. Finishing an adventure race is always something to celebrate.
Saturday delivered a classic Brisbane mixed bag of weather, humidity, a few light showers, some short downpours, and plenty of fine sections in between. All of it set against the stunning backdrop of Enoggera Reservoir, one of Brisbanes most spectacular pockets of bushland.
Out on the course, teams found trails in great condition, with a mix of open running, steep climbs, and some technical descents that needed careful judgement. All teams needed to push hard to collect all those elusive checkpoints.
The wildlife on course also had front-row seats to the action, watching a steady stream of map-wielding runners, riders and kayakers pass by. Swamp hens, bush turkeys, and the reservoir resident turtles all watched the action unfold.
It was fantastic to see a larger field than previous years, bringing even more energy to the trails. We also held our very first Kids Adventure Race at this location, which delivered a huge dose of enthusiasm, mini-adventurers, and plenty of proud parents.
Full Race Results are now available. Congratulations not only to the podium placegetters across the categories but to all the teams that conquered the course!
Make sure you check out the official race photos from the finish line. All event photos are free this year, so jump on and download your favourites.
Events like this dont happen without an incredible crew of volunteers leading a hand. Were hugely grateful for the time and enthusiasm they bring to race day.
A special shout out to Colorado Coffee, who powered plenty of racers with much-needed caffeine&and then took to the trails themselves taking 1st place in the Novice Mixed category. Thats one effective pre-race brew!
A big thank you as well to the Enoggera Scouts, who kept hungry teams well fed with the post-race BBQ and cooling drinks.
And thanks again to everyone who joined us for the Brisbane Max Adventure Race. We loved seeing teams out exploring and sharing the adventure together.
