The Saucony Off Road Half Marathon is a unique running and walking event held on the North and East side of Mount Tauhara near Taupo. The terrain is 100% off road and includes farmland and pine forest. The course is held on 100% private land so this event provides a once per year opportunity to access this area. Elevation is 'rolling' and some hill training is required. There are fantastic views from the course. The event is all about partcipation and there is a distance and speed option for everyone. Options include 10km walk, 10 km run, Half marathon walk and Half marathon run and new for 2011 a 2km fun run.
