Moonshine Trail Run

The Moonshine Trail started in 2007 and will be enjoying it's 5th Anniversary on the 19th February.

The main idea behind this event is that it provides a unique ‘once a year’ access for competitors to Southland’s exceptional and distinctive Hokonui landscape, fostering grass roots sporting development and also enhancing tourism in the area.

Orginally, the MLT Moonshine Trail was set up along side the Hokonui Moonshine Festival, which is now held a week later on 26th February 2011. Each year it aims to provide competitors with a fun event focusing on the history and spirit of Southland.

There are catergories suited to any age group from 15 years upwards for biking and running events.

Whether you run or cycle you'll be blown away by the Southlands iconic Hokonui Hills. Compete in the BNZ Moonlighters 35km or Cycle Surgery Dead Keen 40km Mountain Bike or the Allan White Shoe Clinic 15km or the New Balance Bootleggers 30km run. Come take part in this once-a-year opportunity!
