Great Pyramid Race

The Great Pyramid Race and Country Fair is held every year in mid August in the small community of Gordonvale, located 24 kms south of Cairns. Festival activities include a Media Launch, Trivia Night ,Masquerade Cocktail Party and more; ending on the weekend of August 14th, with the main event – the Great Pyramid Race. Other sporting activities on this day include a 5km fun run and a Criterium. Markets, entertainment, children’s activities, workshops, rides and amusements are held in the central park, culminating in a Pyrotechnique Fire Dance Theatre, a fireworks spectacular and a local band playing till late.
