Run the Rock

Hanging Rock, one of Australia’s most iconic locations, will once again play host to the Run the Rock, proudly supporting Cancer Council Victoria on Saturday, 21 April 2012, with the addition of a long course and kids run plus a new partnership with the Cancer Council Victoria.
With a choice of distance – 17.5km run, 10km run, 5km run/walk and a 2km kids run – the event boasts a picturesque rural backdrop with bush trails and quiet country roads, scenic views of Mt Macedon and surrounding areas plus a lap around the base of spectacular Hanging Rock (with the exception of the kids run).
Just under an hour's drive from the heart of Melbourne near the townships of Woodend and Mount Macedon, Hanging Rock is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. After the run, participants are encouraged to make the most of the picnic areas on offer or explore the region further, with its unique villages and natural landscapes.
