Manly Soft Sand Classic

The Manly Soft Sand Classic started in 1993 and was the first event of its type in Australia.

Prior to the Classic, soft sand running was seen only as a cross leg in ocean ironman racing and in particular the Uncle Toby's Super Series. Watching those events you would notice the competitors were always in single file during the run legs in soft sand. By running behind each other they were able to take advantage of the hardened surface.

When you run the Manly Soft Sand Classic you are truly running in the footsteps of champions. No beach in the world has bred more sporting legends from iron men and women, to world champion surfers, Olympic rowers and countless other elite sports achievers. Each has spent their time running and training on Manly Beach.

Now we invite you to follow in their footsteps. To earn your place among the champions.
