The Battle of the Beasts

After a cracking 2012 event, the Beastworx team is back to deliver you “The Battle of the Beasts 2013?
The race will be held on the 19th and 20th Oct. The Beast and Beastette will be back to defend their titles – make sure you are there!!
The time has come. Time to Unleash Your Beast.
Each of us has an inner Beast – the person we really want to be. Our Beast thrives on adventure. It longs to seize life in all its glory. It is not afraid of failure.
For most of us though, the Beast within is trapped. It lies dormant, repressed by the drudgery of routine and responsibility, trapped by the humdrum of society. Enough is enough. Now is the time – time to find your Beast, and let it roam free.
That’s what Beastworx is all about – Unleashing Your Beast. It’s about re-discovering your desire to make things happen. It’s about being challenged, seeking out adventure and testing your limits. Don’t let your Beast fall prey to the daily grind any longer. Take charge. Live like a Beast.
Are you ready to Unleash Your Beast? If so, the 75 km Battle of the Beasts is for you.

Day 1 (Saturday)

Saturday will be the first ever "Flowing Beast". This will be a shorter race on some purpose built (and existing) track at Caloola Farm and neighbouring properties. There will be three distances 15km, 30km and 45km (exact distances will be confirmed when we make the tracks).

The race is designed to be fun and fast and will feature a mixture of trails, including as much single track as we can build. We have checked out the land and ridden the proposed route, it really does have a great flow to it and the scenery is a delight.

Following on that night, we plan to hold a little shindig featuring live music and bad dancing. It will be family affair, so kids are encouraged and there will be plenty of camping spots available at Caloola Farm.

Day 2 (Sunday)

This will see the return of the "Full Beast" 72km race. Jeremy and Anne will be there to defend their titles over some of Namadgi's finest trails. We have had lots of interest about the race which is great. Word is getting out.

Based on feedback from last year, we have decided to generate a new "Pairs" category. This will split the Full Beast in half, with the change over occurring at Control Point 4 (the first/ bottom food point). We still hope most people will opt to crank out the Beast in full but appreciate that an entry distance may better suit some riders.
