The 2014 Gobi March will take place in the Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture in the Xinjiang province. Along the 250 kilometers / 155 miles of the Gobi March course, the terrain will include grasslands, farmlands, dirt tracks, riverbeds, rolling hills, mountain valleys, plains and plateaus. Competitors will pass through local villages and grazing lands where shepherds tend to their flocks. Athletes are provided with water and a place to stay in a tent each day and are also supported by professional medical and operations teams.
