We are thrilled to announce that the Alpine Assault now has a new home at MOUNT BULLER. Renowned as an iconic Australain MTB destination, Mount Buller has developed an extensive network of world class XC trails and Alpine Assault will showcase everything that these trails have to offer. The date of the new Alpine Assault will be Saturday, February 15th 2014
Along with a new location, there is a new and exciting race format for the Alpine Assault. It will still be a Marathon style event but with a slight twist. The race will be conducted on a 40km lap of all the sweet Buller trails, accompanied by the amazing Alpine views and scenery. It will be a truely spectacular Alpine MTB experience.
There will be 3 race distances offered 40km, 80km and 160km. Thats right, you read correctly 160km. Riders will be able to compete Solo in each of the race distances. Here's the twist though, there will also be teams categories in the 80km and 160km distances. In the 80km distance there will be 2 person teams allowed. Each rider in the team completing one lap of the course. In the 160km distance, there will be 2 person and 4 person teams allowed. in the 2 person teams each rider must complete two laps each and swap out each lap. in the 4 person teams each rider must complete 1 lap each. Race categories will also be split into Male, Female and Mixed, giving you a range of race categories to enter depending on your preference for solo or teams, short or longer distance.
