Adventurethon Albany (WA)

Adventurethon is an adrenaline charged multi-sport challenge incorporating paddling, mountain biking and off road (or trail) running. Our courses are off road, frequenting areas like national parklands, beaches and hiking trails to enjoy the scenery and experience the outdoors of Albany.

Step outside of your comfort zone and take on one of 5 courses offering multiple distances. Saturday will see pain seekers tackle off road tracks & trails with our Ultra, Enduro and Duathlon (land only option) courses while Sunday is perfect for the newbies, friends or family members you happen to bring along.

Any Adventurethon challenge can be done as an individual, tag team or side by side team to gain a different experience for the day.

THIS YEAR SEES A NEW MTB COURSE
Traveling over the 3 major mountains in the heart of the city; Mt Melville is made up of granite and overlooks the Princess Royal Harbour after skirting around Mt Melville you are slingshotted to Mt Clarence and MT Adelaide which house the old World War Gun Emplacements.
At the top of Mt Clarence you will also ride past some of the War memorial history as well as being diverted onto the Albany MTB Clubs Downhill track for a bit of adrenaline riding suited to cross country bikes.

2 paddle options (ocean or Harbour)
The Ultra Paddle takes in 16km of mixed Harbour and ocean paddling whereas the Enduro Adventurethon will focus on 9km in the calmer waters of the Harbour for those not as confident in the amazing conditions that Albany can bring to an ocean paddle. (Ocean paddle tries to ensure a good line of downwind wherever possible with conditions)

The Run has been re designed to take in some amazing scenery & History
With a NEW SECTION of coastal rock hoping and a visit to the War memorials and Gun Emplacements this event is both a scenic overload but also a fitting tribute to the 100years history that Albany Shares with World war 1 ANZACS.
In November of 1914 Many of the Troops left from Albany's Princess Royal Harbour making Albany their last Australian Stop before landing in the war zone.
