2015 Oceania Mountain Bike Championships - Toowoomba...
Big crowds are expected during the Toowoomba round of the 2014-15 National Series. The event is run is to be run in conjunction with the 2015 Oceania Mountain Bike Championships. To be held in Jubilee Park, in one of Toowoomba’s largest parks, with spectacular views of Locker Valley. and a mecca for mountain bikers, bush walkers, runners and horse riders. Toowoomba Mountain Bike Club and the Queensland Government will host this prestigious event, which will attract over 400 riders and media.
COURSES-
Cross Country, Enduro , Eliminator tracks-
Over 500 meters of single trail climbing on Toowoomba's mountain side. Tracks are predominantly dusty and rocky with small sections of rain forest like terrain. Technical uphill sections quickly followed by short sharp descents and flowy switch backs. Plenty of log jumps, hops and and drops and gnarly rock gardens.
DH track-
The track holds two 25 foot jumps, a gnarly rock garden followed by what's known as Jared's booter, named after co-designer (Jared Graves), one of the fastest sections on the track. This is a black diamond run and extremely dangerous track.
