The Toowoomba Challenge is run in partnership with the Rotary Club of Toowoomba South, raising money for youth programs in Toowoomba.

The 15 or 30km distance coupled with wide open fire trails makes this the perfect event for beginners or runners having a hit out. Following The Spirit of Kokoda philosophy, our Toowoomba Challenge is a team event so you must enter a team of 2, 3 or 4.

Taking place in the beautiful Redwood and Jubilee Parks, the route starts at Webb Park at 7am where competitors descend off the escarpment along bridle trails in Redwood Park down towards the Warrego Hwy. Testing competitors' stamina, the steep climb begins up the picturesque Redwood Forest Walk to peak at Prince Henry Heights before plunging down the northern side into Jubilee Park. A checkpoint at the bottom starts the leg-burning return journey back up the escarpment to Webb Park. In the 30km event participants will need to complete these challenging hills twice, drawing on all their courage and endurance in the Spirit of Kokoda.

The Junior Kokoda Challenge is definitely an event to mark in the school calendar. In a break from traditional school sports where teachers are barracking from the sidelines, the Junior Kokoda Challenge Toowoomba event requires teachers to join as a member of the five person team to complete the 30km or 15km Challenge. During the event, students are both physically and emotionally fatigued and their leaders must develop new strategies to motivate and keep their group going.

If you want to test your fitness or make sure that your training is on track for the 96km Kokoda Challenge, this event is for you!
