Red Dog Relay

The 2016 Red Dog Relay is a fun, active, adventure-packed team event over two days that charts a picturesque course from Dampier to Karratha out to Millstream Chichester National Park and return.

WHAT?

Red Dog Relay is a two-day event.

The relay has seven legs:

Leg 1: Run
Leg 2: Paddle
Leg 3: 4WD Vehicle
Leg 4: Mountain Bike
Leg 5: Cross Country Walk
Leg 6: Swim
Leg 7: Road Bike

18km run, 4km paddle, 48km mountain bike, 180km 4WD, 9km walk, 1km swim and 123km road bike leg.

WHEN?

Saturday 4 June and Sunday 5 June 2016.

Mandatory Event Briefing for participants and support crew will be held in Karratha prior to Relay, details to follow

WHO?

The relay is a team event, with a minimum of four and maximum six participants in each team and this year for the first time individuals within a Team will be allowed to complete the total distance of each leg.

Relay Teams must have a support crew of at least 2 people and a vehicle over the two days of the Relay.

Early Bird discount is available from 15 - 31 March 2016. Registrations close on 16 May 2016.

WHICH LEGS?

Standard Relay Teams can choose which members compete in each leg, but must field a minimum of two team members in the swim, mountain bike and walk legs, three team members in the run and four in the road bike, paddle and 4WD legs

For teams the swim, mountain bike and paddle legs will be divided into 2 sections and the run leg will be divided into 3 sections. The road bike and 4WD legs will have 4 sections. The walk leg in the Millstream National Park will have two team members walking together. The changeover of each section will be at a transition point and team members will wear a timing bracelet at all times.

Team support vehicles will transport the team participants to the next changeover location ready for the next transition.

The new Super Team category allows individual participants to complete the total distance of each of the Relay legs but must also have a support crew of at least 2 people plus vehicle.
