Adventurethon assists Reef Biologist for a day Program
Adventurethon is very excited to be partnering with Reef Ecologic to give back to the reef and environment this April 1 & 2 over the Adventurethon Magnetic Island weekend. As people who regularly use the ocean to paddle and more we are really committed to assisting in any rehabilitation of the reef.
That's why we were so excited when Adam contacted us to assist with the Reef Biologist for a day.
ABOUT THE REEF BIOLOGIST FOR A DAY PROGRAM- Would you like to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park at Magnetic Island and be part of a reef research and rehabilitation project?.
Dr Adam Smith, a Director of Reef Ecologic is leading a research and stewardship program to increase the health of the coral reefs in the area. Adam is a also masters adventurethon competitor. Adam aims to lead by example, share knowledge and show you can mix sport, science and also help our reefs and planet.
What participants will learn
– how research assists the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park
– scientific techniques to monitor underwater habitat
– the relationship between seaweed and coral
– safe snorkelling techniques
– what action you can do to help the reef
