Crocodile Trophy 2013 countdown until 19 October has started

We've just had word from the Crocodile Trophy organisers that there are still spots available for the nine-day stage race, which will start in Cairns on 19th October and take the racers across the Atherton Tablelands over 900km deep into the Outback of Far North Queensland before the finish on Grassy Hill in Cooktown on 28th October.

Cairns will again be hosting two stage starts of the stage race known as the "hardest, hottest and most adventurous MTB stage race in the world" - Stage 1 will be an open lap race at the World Cup trails in Smithfield together with the Cairns MTB Club. Also Stage 2 to Lake Tinaroo is open for any rider to compete in to "get a taste for the Croc". From then on each day's destinations will be faraway places near historic mining towns, secluded billabongs as well as rustic campsites near cattle stations.

Rocky Trail's Martin Wisata will participate for the fourth time - this year also in the Team classification.
Under the banner of "Il Pastaio/Rocky Trail Racing", Martin will compete in the M1 category in what will be his fourth Crocodile Trophy race. He will also race in the team competition with experienced endurance riders Peter Selkrig (M3) and Phil Welch (M2), who won his free entry at the JetBlack WSMTB 12 Hour event earlier this month. As the Crocodile Trophy's media manager, Juliane will travel with them for support and keep you updated about their adventures and the race as it unfolds for the almost 100 competitors from all over the world.
